All-Pro Football 2k8 is a great game when it comes to playing real football. Gameplay is almost like NFL 2K5 but has alot of improvments. The classic roster is nice and the customization pretty deep. The only thing that falls short is the long term value because the season is only one year and the game has very little features.
Product Information. By partnering with over 240 big names in football, All-Pro Football 2K8 is designed to offer a highly customizable and unique experience for both single- and multiplayer action. Players must create a dream team by recruiting as many legends as possible from a roster that includes Johnny Unitas, Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, and John Elway.
Although there is no official NFL license, gamers can recognize their favorite players by their physical appearance and the familiar style and color of each character's uniform. Games are played at fictional stadiums around the country and logos for each group are similar to those found on the jerseys of real-life teams.
Players are able to play through a season alone or challenge friends through offline play and online multiplayer action. Great football gameplay that is superiorEA / Madden series has had a monopoly on the NFL license since 2005, hence this game in 2007. Gameplay in APF 2k8 is WAY better than anything EA / Madden has done in the last 15 years. Blocking, tackling, throwing, running, and AI are much more realistic in my humble opinion, and this game was made in 2007. It's not 100% perfect, but it plays as close as you can get to real football, even in 2018.Weaknesses are no Franchise mode, only a single Season mode.
No NFL license either (EA / Madden has taken that away from everyone since 2005). There are only a limited amount of retired NFL players on imaginary teams and stadiums.
Graphics are decent but not as good, but again this was made in 2007 for older consoles compared to todays Xbox One / PS4.2k Sports needs to make another NFL licensed football game ASAP, because lately Madden has been negligent slop. The bottom line is this - All Pro Football 2k8 is a better football experience and is fun to play.Verified purchase: Yes Condition: New. Geared for online playThis game will probably appeal more to people who play online, otherwise wait until madden comes out because of the lack of a franchise mode will kill it for you. Those of you who enjoyed 2k5 will love this title. It has improved graphics and most of the A.I. 'glitches' that plaugued 2k5 have been addressed. People playing 2k5 online made a living with taking advantage of bad offensive line and defensive back A.I. Not to mention the onside kick glitch and the punt/FG block timming glitch. They also toned down the ease of 'trucking' multiple defenders with a powerbacks.
Another thing you will not see in this newest installment of the 2k franchise is QBs running at will on you while your defenders aimlessly pick their noses. Needless to say it is alot more enjoyable to play online now wi thout much of the cheesing that went on.Online play is made user friendly with your ability to edit your offensive/defensive playbooks, audibles and depth charts all offline so you don't have to waste time tweeking everything everytime you play a game. People who also long to create replica jersys of their favorite teams will be happy to know that you can get very close to the real life counter parts because of the endless amount of colors and graphics available to them when you create your uniforms. There are codes online that will get you almost any teams uniform you want if you don't want to do the work yourself.Passing is made a little more difficult because your outside receivers are offscreen and you can't pan left or right to check on them especially when you want to make sure the hot route you assigned went through properly. Your receivers still drop that 'gimmie' catch with no one around them every once in awhile.
Running is more challenging because defenders don't get trucked so easily. Time is drops down to 20 seconds after you chose your play so you can't call audible after audible like you could in 2k5. Amazing! This game will probably appeal more to people who play online, otherwise wait until madden comes out because of the lack of a franchise mode will kill it for you. Those of you who enjoyed 2k5 will love this title.

It's a solid football gameI'm not a football fanatic so I don't know all the technicalities.All-Pro 2K8 seems to execute the game realistically in real time.
You can run the ball for a gain. Passing can be a little more difficult because you can't always see the WR's.Graphics aren't breath taking. Not alot of neat ani-motions to add to the realism of a football game. Tackles are generic and look the same every time.I like the fantasy teams. I like playing in fantasy land sports. It's a game, what's wrong with fake players and fake teams? Let's build a complete fake basketball series(that's my sport of choice) like the old Double Dribble, Tecmo Bowl, Ken Griffey Jr Baseball I love that stuff.
I would be just as pleased if 2K Sports would make fantasy players to go with the fantasy teams, just make up some rosters, heck why not? Trying to mimic real players abilities isn't always the funnest thing to me.
You have players going beyond their true capabilities ends up making it feel unreal anyway. As for EA Sports, I don't buy their junk. They are always WAYYYYY off.Well there you have it.

Good football action, not spectacular. Not a strong presentation visually. Got boring to me by halftime because I always play by true game lengths(12 min quarters I believe it is). It'll be decent if I'm ever in the mood to play a season. For Gosh sakes, buy it cheap though.
It's AightPresentation- Nice Touches, but the cupboard is relatively bare, but sadly there is no customization and a serious lack of franchise.Graphics- Player modules look old, but the animations look solid, however, you can see some glitches.Sound- Great on-field sound effects, some commentary is recycled from 2k5,Gameplay- Awesome gameplay in general, a very realistic game engine, few problems with AI.Lasting Appeal- No Franchise Mode! Season mode is pretty much worthless, however the multiplayer is good.Overall- This is an average football console game, and it does have its pros and cons, however, I would not be willing to spend my $$$ when Madden 08 will be coming out soon.
