Welcome to MadCat Software, a software development and consulting company dedicated to designing and developing quality products. MadCat was originally started to support the development of Microsoft Windows products. At the present time MadCat Software has expanded into enterprise level applications and systems built on Sun/Solaris or Linux using the latest Java/J2EE technologies. Of course we have also expanded our ability in the Windows area, creating Windows Applications written in C and C# and embracing the.NET technology in the areas of Windows Forms, ASP.NET and Web Services.MadCat Software is a Colorado Springs, Colorado based company and works on projects in the Colorado area and all over the US. While the weather outside is nice this refers to the weather forecasting and delivery company we've been working with off and on for the last couple of years,. This company has proprietary weather forecasting engines that create incredible grid forecasts for CONUS and the world. The JEE project developed in 2009 continues to be used to deliver Global Weather Corp's data to the iPhone application WeatherFix via REST web services.Global Weather Corp is expanding into supporting wind power generation sites by utilitizing their forecasting engines to produce exception wind and resultant power generation forecasts for wind farms around the US. The first step in this is to bring in multiple racks of equipment and get the networks, power, etc set up to support all this processing power.
In the short term (next couple of months) MadCat is responsbile for the infrastructure in the data center to support these racks including the networks and power requirements. In the longer term MadCat will continue to support this installation as well as bring up new customers and integrate them into the system for both data delivery to the system and out of the system. At some point the SOA JEE delivery system will be enhanced to deliver customer specific data in a variety of formats for web and mobile clients.November 2010 -.Net Development. Ah, something I did in the mid and late 90s, I think 1993-1999, digital video. This is a blast and a very interesting concept. The gist is that we have a recording client that does video conferencing and also records the video during the conference. After the conference is over the video is uploaded to our servers and processed into a talk show format automatically. The resulting video show is placed on our web portal in minutes.MadCat's responsibility in this is the automation cycle, from uploading the video, processing the video through transcoding, autoediting, show created using Final Cut Pro, and publishing back to the Portal.
A big project that will again make use of our SOA JEE based framework.Checkout.Janurary 2010 - hello iPhone. Back into the.Net world! Why not work in both the Java world and the.Net world at the same time.
You have to love switching between IDEs and coding languages. Of course Java and C# are so close these days it makes things easier, at least most of the time.Anyway, we have been heavily involved with an east coast company that develops software to help the non-profit industry keep track of their effect on their clients and their effectiveness as an organization. The first two primary projects we have been involved with are;1. Increase the web security of the product for use in Social Security Administration environments.2. Implement a complete scheduling system which allows staff and clients to keep track of appointments.
Entirely web based.June 2009 - JEE Project. It has been a very busy year for us!The product hinted at in July of last year is finally going out in beta mode and soon to have a first production release. Ted was instrumental in the architecture, design and implementation of the JEE supplied webservices for this product. The entire backend uses Glassfish as a JEE container, runs RESTful web services to supply the front end with information, and makes strong use of JMS messaging to run multiple asynchronous processing.
More on what this product actually does when it is release out of the currently quiet mode it is in.July 2008. The steady force in the last year or so has been ContentPros, the.NET based full service web development and hosting business, as it continues to grow. It is a very interesting business and there is always a lot to do.
We've been expanding our client base and increasing our technology considerably. If you are looking for a web site or would like to build web sites using our technology check out.MadCat Software has also been doing some additional contracting work. There seems to be a lot of work in the web services world and MadCat has done both Java/Apache Axis2 and Microsoft.Net web services. It is nice to see how easily the technologies allow the different platforms and languages to connect. Finally, MadCat Software has embarked on a new project with a local company. MadCat Software has been enlisted as part of their organization and we are architecting, design and developing a new product from the remains of an existing one.

It is using the LAMP/WAMP stack and has some interesting concepts. We are still keeping this quiet so not much more can be said right now but keep coming back and checking for updates!April 2007. The latest adventure MadCat Software has embarked on is a very interesting web development, hosting and service business called. MadCat Software has been developing the infrastructure for Content Pros since November 2006 and while software development is almost never 'finished' we feel ContentPros is ready for the world at this point. This site is built using the software that ContentPros is using for building its sites. Please check out ContentPros at.The system ContentPros builds sites with is.Net 2.0 based using ASP.NET, VB.Net and C#. The system allows a wide range of functionality to be built into a web site very quickly and easily.
Additional functionality can be added to the site at any point with the same tools as initial creation is done with. The system also provides security and mechanisms that allow the owner of the site to modify portions through a web based interface.November 2006.
We're reviewing the Mad Catz STRIKE TE Gaming Keyboard. It comes in at a lower price than most mechanical keyboards but does it have the same performance? Let's find out in this review.► Buy Mad Catz STRIKE TE Tournament Edition -The Mad Catz keyboard has a metal base and a heavy weight which is typical of a mechanical keyboard. The keyboard has a slightly enhanced layout.
It's not a barebones keyboard, it does have some extra space on the frame, macros keys at the top, and more macro keys above the arrow keys. Keyboard layouts can be subjective and I tend to prefer a barebones layout, but the extra keys do come in handy. There's also a divider between the arrow keys and the letter keys, which is mostly for style. There is also a function key for media controls on the F5 through F12 keys. The wrist rest loosely attaches at the bottom. I'm not a big fan of wrist rests in general and this one seems more cumbersome then anything so I choose not to use it.Testing the keyboard with one of my favorite games, Shadow Warrior, it's responsive and comfortable.
The keys have a light tactile feel with 45g actuation. Double taps happen a little too easily but everything feels like it has a light touch. The windows lock key is another convenient feature. It has a nice slider that can enable or disable the windows button so you don't accidentally hit it while in game. This is incredibly helpful and the fact that it's a slider makes it easy to tell if it's enabled. The Macro keys can be programmed in the Mad Catz software and it has every possible programming feature I could imagine.
You can map it to other basic keys, windows functions, media functions, or custom macros. The C macro keys above the arrows have the same potential, so you have 12 programmable buttons in total. It's also just very easy to navigate the software. There are individual lighting settings for all the keys, the WASD keys, and the arrow keys to control the level of illumination.
If the lights are dim and you find yourself hunting for the right keys, this will definitely help you out.The support page in the software is also re-assuring as it has a tutorial video, a digital version of the manual, and the quick start guide. There's also easy options for downloading new drivers and profiles as well as submitting a ticket for troubleshooting. It's always good when the manufacturer makes themselves available to the customers. The biggest difference between this keyboard and others from top keyboard manufacturers is that it uses Kailh switches. Kailh is a mechanical switch type that is cheaper because it's manufactured in China and doesn't have the same level of quality compared to the classic Cherry MX switches. If you are a keyboard nerd, you'll definitely want to stick with another keyboard that has Cherry MX switches.
For the rest of us, the price vs performance ratio makes up for the difference. The key switches have are rated for 50 million key presses which is average among mechanical gaming keyboards in this price range. The Mad Catz keyboard retails at $78 which is cheaper than the high end mechanical keyboards with a few extra features. The keyboard does offer a lot of features for this price range. For those of you who want a few macro and media keys at a sub $100 price this can be a smart purchase. However the enhanced layout and the Kailh switches may be a deal breaker for picky keyboard users. I personally prefer high quality Cherry MX switches along with a basic keyboard, but objectively I can say that this keyboard is not a bad deal.
